LOCATION:

Province of Piacenza, Nure Valley. The Appennine part or one of the central valley of the province very rich of castles and towers belonging to feudal local lords. Starting from Piacenza city, the provincial road 654 better known as “Val Nure” brings you through villages, castles and burghs mostly built during 15th and 16th centuries to ward off the rural communities under the so-called "Valley Federation".

TOUR DESCRIPTION:

The tour starts early morning from Piacenza City where our Tour Guide will meet you. This full day excursion brings you to see one of the  most famous and visited cities of art of our province: the Burgh of Grazzano Visconti, the magic Village built more than hundred years ago in Gothic style.

At arrival, visit The Park, of 150,000 square metres, sprang up around the late XIV-century Castle. It was conceived and created at the beginning of the XX century by Duke Giuseppe Visconti of Modrone and assumes the form of an example of the eclectic style, with elements taken from the Italian and French garden and the English park. Fountains, parterres, statues and bridges blend into a luxuriant natural setting, in which examples of centenarian trees, such as the plane tree or splendid group of Lebanon cedars, stand out.
The visitor’s route include the maze, the playhouse, Sant'Anne’s Chapel and the fairy-tale courtyard of the castle.

Enjoy the local cuisine, an interesting experience of senses: a Lunch in a typical "Trattoria Piacentina”. The Piacentina Gastronomy is genuine and tasteful, a renewed tradition from the past. Cured meats, filled pasta, main courses based on meat, cheeses and cakes wanderfully coupled with Colli Piacentini DOC (CDO Controlled Designation of Origin) wines.

After Lunch take a digestive walk to discover the borough of Grazzano Visconti: the e narrow streets, the gardens, the water fountains, old houses with double lancet windows, characteristic shops very famous for their handicrafts  made of wrought iron, handcarved wood furniture and handpainted ceramics. Time for shopping…
