TOUR DESCRIPTION:

Departure from the pick up point in Piacenza. You will leave in the direction of Vigoleno, an ancient medieval castle. Short visit to the castle and the Romanic church of San Giorgio with frescoes of the 15th century. You will meet your tour guide at 11:00 a.m. in Castell’Arquato, city of art and one of the most beautiful burghs of Italy.

You will walk along the picturesque narrow streets of the burgh to the fortress (called “Rocca Viscontea”), the Church of Santa Maria (“Collegiata of Santa Maria”) and the “Palazzo del Podestà”. Lunch in a typical “trattoria piacentina”.

At about 15:00, you will head to Carpaneto, where you will spend the rest of the day on the occasion of the “Festa della Coppa”. This feast takes place every year. Here you can taste a typical product of Piacenza: the “coppa” (salted meat of pork). The town council organises also shows and painting exhibitions.

Transfer back to your hotel in the evening.
